Where’s Miranda Derrick Now? Is She Still in 7M TikTok Cult?

They blew up on TikTok and now their story is coming to light. If you’ve watched Dancing For The Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, you might be wondering where Miranda Derrick is now.

Miranda Wilking (now Derrick) and her sister Melanie rose to stardom after posting dancing videos on TikTok. All seemed to be fine within their family until Melanie and her and Miranda’s parents, Kelly and Dean, hosted a livestream alleging Miranda straying away from their family because she joined 7M Film Management. The family said that Miranda cut off almost all contact with her former friends and family, even blocking her grandmother from her social-media pages.

“She never told us where she moved to. She ended up blocking us and changed her phone number,” Kelly said in the livestream. “Whatever she’s involved in, [it’s] got some kind of control over her that’s making her afraid of something.”

Where is Miranda Derrick now?

Miranda Derrick is still making dance videos with 7M Film Management. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband James “BDash” Derrick, who she married in 2021. Isaiah Shinn, the son of 7M Films Management CEO Robert Shinn, has been credited for filming some of their joint videos.

Two days before the premiere of Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, Miranda and James both attended Melanie’s wedding to NFL player Austin Ekeler. “Had such a great time at my sister’s wedding✨💍,” she captioned a post on Instagram. However, her sister Melanie didn’t post any pictures with Miranda. “Just spectacular!! Share a picture of you and your sister,” one fan commented on her post. Another wrote, “So glad you went! Hoping this means you guys are close again 💕”

In response to the Wilkings allegations against 7M Film Management, Miranda gave out a public statement. “I am not held against my will and I’ve never been a hostage,” Miranda said. “I go to church and I have faith in God. If one day I wish to pursue my faith elsewhere, I will and feel completely free to do that. As far as my career, my time at 7M Films has been one of the most exciting years ever and if one day I wish to partner with a different management company or start my own company, I will.”

She added, “No one is forcing me to do anything. I am excited to move forward in this incredible walk with God, an amazing marriage, and an exciting career. I’m also looking forward to moving past all of this and mend my relationship with my family privately.”

When did Miranda Derrick join 7M Film Management?

Miranda joined 7M Film Management during the COVID-19 pandemic. She stopped posting on the joint Wilking Sisters TikTok account causing some suspicion.

“During the pandemic, a lot of people including myself had time to reflect since normal life was disrupted and on pause for everyone,” a statement provided by The Cut reads. She started to “walk with God in a serious way” at the end of 2020. “I felt a spiritual shift happen inside of me. I started going to Bible studies and learning about God.”

“I know that my family and friends saw changes in me along the way because it was true,” her statement reads. “I was changing for the better and in love like I’d never been before.”

7M came forward with a statement about Miranda Derrick’s family’s allegations to Daily Mail. “Despite her family’s claims, Miranda is a successful businesswoman and a loving wife and daughter who cares very much about her family,” the statement read. It is pathetic and contemptible to try to turn her private family matters into a tawdry public scandal for clicks and clout. While the recent portrayals of Dr. Robert Shinn and 7M Films have been wildly offensive and riddled with inaccuracies, those false claims will not deter 7M from supporting Miranda in whichever endeavors she chooses to pursue next.”

7M Films Management is a company that helps TikTok dancers accumulate fame and wealth. The website for the company says that “7M Films, Inc. is a Los Angeles-based talent management company representing some of the top social media influencers in the world. Since 7M was founded in 2021, the collective social media following of our clients has grown from 1.78 million to 10.42 million.” 7M denied that they are “asserting undue influence over its dancers or taking advantage of them,” according to Rolling Stone. The company is run by Robert Shinn who also runs the Shekinah Church.
