We Have the Next Viral Foundation for 2024 But I Don’t Trust The Reviews

Well, the next viral foundation for 2024 has dropped and the award goes to Laura Mercier Real Weightless Perfecting Foundation. Laura Mercier Real Weightless Perfecting Foundation isn’t new by any means (I believe it’s about a year old now) but it’s going viral at the moment across Tiktok for it’s weightless yet full coverage that brightens and perfect skin. Does it?

I can’t confirm or deny how great this is as I haven’t personally tried it. I was intrigued by it when it originally launched but I started reading reviews that said it wasn’t great for dry skin and I immediately backed away. I will say the way it’s being applied online does tempt me as it looks so flawless and natural but I can’t be tempted at all by these viral reviews because I’ve been burned plenty in the past. Can we stop a second, think, and remember how The Power of Social Media sold KVD Good Apple Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Foundation Balm Right out of stock and how it’s currently doing the same to this Laura Mercier Real Weightless Perfecting Foundation? Can we also, reflect on how everyone was raving Good Apple Balm as the most amazing foundation ever to be made but after a few short months everyone was complaining about how dry and cakey it looks on skin? So, yeah, I’m proceeding with caution when it comes to indulging in the Laura Mercier Real Weightless Perfecting Foundation.
Laura’s formula promises long-wear with waterproof and fade-proof coverage with up to 12 hours of oil-controlling coverage. That alone makes me back up because my skin produces so little oil I have a feeling this won’t sit right on my drier skin. But in the same sentence, it also says it improves hydration for up to 24 hours. I hate how one foundation can be both oil-controlling and moisturizing at the same time. Please, pick a side and stick to it. Something worth mentioning is the word on the street is it smells a bit as well but I’m not put off by that as a lot of full coverage foundations that have thinner formulas do have that magic marker or gasoline-like scent.
Will I try this foundation? I’m curious enough to try it out in-store now that it’s gone viral but it isn’t something I’d risk buying blindly! Have you used or tried this foundation? Does it warrant all the attention it’s currently getting?
