It’s that time of year again – Essence Festival! You’ll want to be prepared with beauty essentials that keep you looking and feeling your best throughout the festivities. Here are some must-haves:
Skincare
Sunscreen: Protect your skin from the NOLA sun with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Remember, everyone needs to wear sunscreen!
Moisturizer: A lightweight, hydrating moisturizer to keep your skin glowing.
Face Mist: Refresh your face throughout the day with a hydrating mist.
Blotting Papers: Keep shine at bay without disturbing your makeup.
Makeup
Foundation/BB Cream: A lightweight, long-lasting formula to even out your skin tone. Look for products that say they are sweat and waterproof.
Setting Powder/Spray: To keep your makeup in place all day. Highly recommend an all-night spray to set your makeup. Also try a matte spray so you won’t have an oily finish.
Bold Lipstick: Essence Fest is the perfect time to rock a bold lip color. This is your time to take a risk!
Mascara: Waterproof mascara to withstand the heat and any spontaneous fun. Personally, I will opt for lashes over mascara any day.

Leave-in Conditioner: To combat frizz and keep your hair hydrated.
Edge Control: For sleek edges that last all day.
Body Care
Deodorant: A must for staying fresh. Try out a whole-body deodorant as well.
Body Lotion: Keep your skin soft and smooth. Palmers is my favorite because it’s non-greasy.
Hand Sanitizer: For cleanliness on the go.
Perfume/Body Spray: A travel-size bottle for a quick refresh.
Extras
Portable Charger: Keep your devices powered up for photos and social media.
Portable Fan: This is a major essential. New Orleans heat is no joke.
Water Bottle: Stay hydrated in the heat.
Sunglasses: Protect your eyes and add to your stylish look.
Comfortable Shoes: You’ll be on your feet a lot, so comfortable, stylish shoes are essential.
