Sarah Ferguson Reacts To Kate Middleton’s Cancer Announcement

Sending family love. Sarah Ferguson just reacted to Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis. Ferguson has also been in cancer treatment in the past couple of years and sent support to her family member after her emotional announcement on March 22, 2024.

“All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she starts her treatment,” Ferguson, wrote in a statement on Instagram two days after the announcement. “I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best outcome.”

“As someone who has faced their own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way she has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and know it will do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness. I hope she will now be given the time, space and privacy to heal.”

The ex-wife of Prince Andrew was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer in January 2024. “Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York, has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma,” a spokesperson for Ferguson told Us Weekly in a statement. “Her dermatologist asked that several moles were removed and analyzed at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of these has been identified as cancerous. Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing but the Duchess remains in good spirits.”

In a poignant video, Kate Middleton revealed the state of her condition. “I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I’ve been recovering from surgery,” the Princess of Wales said in a video posted by Kensington Palace. “It is being an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family. But I’ve had a fantastic medical team who’ve taken great care of me for which I’m so grateful.”

“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

She talked about the impact it had on her direct family. “As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”

She praised her husband Prince William as “a great source of comfort and reassurance”, Kate added: “This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”

Honoring those who have been diagnosed with cancer, including her father-in-law King Charles, Kate ends the video with an uplifting tone. “While I complete my treatments. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I’m able. But for now, I must focus on making a full recovery. At this time, I’m also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer, For everyone facing this disease in whatever form.”
