*press samplesHello hello! I told you I had tons of polishes to share with you! I hope you’re ready for some soft tones and glitter. This 6-piece winter collection from Noodles Nail Polish features glitter crellies, jellies, and toppers. The set will retail for just $10.50 each, and it will drop this Friday (same time as the Valentine’s Day trio), February 2nd at 6 PM EST. This is a picture-heavy post, so shall we? Best Techniques for Smoothing Out and Removing Glitter *updated 1/30/24*Noodles Nail Polish is all about the glitter, all the time. While we all love the bling, it can be a pain to remove. Oh, and it can be known to eat topcoat which leaves texture on the nail after it dries. If you are especially sensitive to feeling your polish, make sure your topcoat is a thick one, or apply a second coat of a thinner one. Instead of applying 2 coats of thick topcoat, several indie brands have come out with a product that you use after your last coat of polish and before your topcoat. These are generally thick and “fill in” the gaps left from the glitter. Here are several products I use and recommend (in no particular order):2. Gelous from American Classics 3. Criminally Smooth Glitter Smoothing topcoat (dries with a matte finish unlike the others)6. Smooth and Shine Duo from Esmaltes da Kelly (available through Polish Pickup some months)To use these glitter grabbing topcoats, it’s best to let the polish to dry for several minutes before applying. If you apply the glitter grabber too quickly, the nail polish can eat up the glitter grabber a little, making the polish continue to have a little texture, even after the addition of a quick-dry topcoat. Using it this way requires a little more patience, but it’s totally worth it. I also use peel-off basecoats to make removal a breeze. I recommend UNT Ready for Take Off, Hit the Bottle Keepin’ it Peel, or Black Dahlia Lacquer as they all work well (I am not affiliated with any site or brand…I’m just sharing the love). The UNT works better for my body chemistry as the Hit the Bottle will sometimes pop off during the day. It seems like the UNT has been harder to find lately, so there’s always the Holo Taco one if you really need one. If you want your polish to last a little longer, I completely understand. In that case, the foil method will work best for you when you’re ready for a change. Clips like these are cheap and great for keeping the cotton balls in place. I hope this helps, and feel free to email me or leave a comment with any questions you may have.Noodles Nail Polish Alpine Glow (2 coats)We’re starting with a B-A-N-G! You know this is a top pick when Natalie gives us a flakie and glitter combo. Alpine Glow is a soft periwinkle (leaning grey) crelly base with silver metallic glitters, light pink holo glitters, and color shifting aqua/pink/silver/violet flakes. This is that perfect color for winter leading into spring. The flakes settle nicely into the background and adding just the right amount of texture. Shown is 2 coats, and it dries with some texture, but you may be able to get away with just 1 coat of topcoat with this one. Noodles Nail Polish Hygge Season (2 coats)I think this next one is going to be a favorite for many of you out there. There’s just something about Natalie’s light glitter crellies that makes you want to have it. Hygge Season is a very light grey crelly base with metallic aqua/copper/fuchsia/periwinkle glitters, pink holo glitters, and matte periwinkle glitters. It’s so light that it almost looks a little taupe if that makes sense. The color combo is again beautiful. I expected to need 3 thin coats, but I was happy after just 2 coats. This one again dries with texture from all the glitter. Noodles Nail Polish Polar Nights (2 coats)Up next we have another top pick, but this one was a bit unexpected. When looking at the bottle, I thought this was going to have more glitter, but in fact, it has more of a flakie look to it. Polar Nights is a deep navy cream base with lots of silver holo flakes, scattered holo, and a touch of fine light blue glitter and soft blue shimmer. It reminds me of the night sky in a rural area so you really see all the stars. This one was extremely opaque and barely needed that second coat. Oh, and since this is mostly fine flakes, it dries fairly smooth, so you only need a simple coat of topcoat for that shiny finish. Thumb/Pointer/Middle Finger: 2 coats Zoya Val under 1 coat Noodles Nail Polish Silver White WintersRing/litte finger: 3 coats of Noodles Nail Polish Silver White WintersYay, we have our second glitter topper! Silver White Winters is a clear-based topper with scattered holo, periwinkle/silver/lilac metallic glitters, and white matte glitters. I showed it both as a topper or alone in 3 thin coats. This one has more holo shimmer which helps cover the nail if you want to use it on its own. Very wintery in a good way. This will dry with texture, so bust out that glitter-smoothing topcoat again. Noodles Nail Polish Wintry Wish (2 coats)Last, but certainly not least, we have Wintry Wish. This one photographs so well! Like, these holo glitters are just popping. Wintry Wish is our only jelly of the collection, and it’s a deep purple base with silver/copper/pink holo glitters and copper metallic glitters in square and hexagonal shapes. This one has that squishy look, so if that’s one of your favorite looks, this one is for you. I find that jellies tend to really show texture (since it is always shiny and light reflects any rippling), so using extra topcoat will help give that smooth squish. There you have it, folks! I’m really loving the color palette of this collection. My top picks have to be Alpine Glow, Arctic Constellations, and Polar Night, but you can do no wrong choosing any of these beauties. Which ones are your favorites? Don’t forget, you can pick up any of these as well as any of the Valentine’s Day trio polishes this coming Friday, February 2nd at 6 PM on the Noodles website.
