Lupita Nyong’o knows best: Modesty is out and showing leg is so in. After all, only she could make going pantless look this expensive. Like the rest of the world, I’m constantly in awe of the Us star and how effortlessly she can (and does) pull off any look. But with this fishnet outfit in particular, she’s serving major sex appeal and I’m so here for it.
The pantless trend has been seriously popping off lately—with every celebrity from Hailey Bieber to Julia Fox experimenting with the look. And like any good trend, you can really make it your own by adding touches of your personal style. Whether your aesthetic leans more quiet luxury or coquette, there’s a pantless outfit out there for you. In the case of our queen Lupita, she used the trend as an opportunity to show off her legs in the hottest way possible.

Lupita is truly resurrecting my love for fishnet ‘fits with this latest look. Yesterday, she was seen in NYC wearing a chic blazer and barely-there bottoms. Accessorized with an iced-out mini purse and layered necklaces dripping in diamonds, she’s making the pantless trend look like a million bucks. (Which is probably how much that necklace costs.) Even with accessories that extravagant, her fishnets and black pumps still steal the show.
Obviously, fishnets will always be a thing. And even though they’ve been associated with a fair share of microtrends (AKA fishnets under ripped jeans, à la 2017), fishnets themselves will never go out of style. And after Lupita proved they’re the perfect way to spice up any outfit, I am very much inspired to think of brand new ways to show leg. Because if this outfit has taught me anything, it’s that legs are forever.
