KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadow Review
From left to right Blue Shift, Violet Aurora, and Green Nebula Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows
I’ve had a blast playing with the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows. I bought all three shades: Violet Aurora (purple blue shimmer with a black base), Green Nebula (emerald green shimmer with a black base), and Blue Shift (teal blue shimmer with a black base). That said, I’m disgusted at the $24 price tag and insanely short shelf life of 6 months. Nowhere online on KVD’s website or Ulta’s Website do I see anything mentioning the pitiful 6 month shelf life.
Is a 6 month shelf-life bad for an eyeshadow?
Why is the 6 month shelf life a problem? The 6 month shelf life is a problem for me because at the price point of $24, there’s no way that I can finish all 3 of these eyeshadows even with dedicated daily use. I think you would be hard pressed to finish one within 6 months! I genuinely believe that at the $24 price point, the shelf life for an eyeshadow should be 2 years / 24 months.
How’s the color shift?
The KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows are not strong multichromes and they don’t have a ton of the interference pigments that makes it easier to see duochrome and multichrome shift. You get a very strong black base that blends away in a nice way, and you get a bit of subtle shift.
Violet Aurora has subtle purple blue on black, it very frequently looks indigo and leans blue. Green Nebula has a subtle golden green on black and I love the multidimensional green shift. Blue Shift has subtle teal blue shimmer on black and is very bright sparkling teal blue with deeper velvety blue.
Should I buy them all?
I do not recommend buying all three of the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows like I did. If I could do it over again I would only purchase Violet Aurora and Green Nebula. I can incorporate these two into more looks in the short time frame of their shelf life.
The KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows are beautiful eyeshadows, even with their short shelf life. I love the sparkle in the eyeshadow, even in low light settings.
You can use the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows as an eyeshadow, diffused and smokey all over. You can use them for graphic liner with a small angled brush. I love using them as a base for other multichromes. I apply it as a base and use a brush to blend out, like I did in this tutorial, and then layer another duochrome or multichrome on top.
Final Thoughts

I’m having a ton of fun playing with the KVD Dazzle Gel Hyper-Metallic Vegan Eyeshadows, despite their flaws. If you love liquid or cream eyeshadows and are looking for a fun and easy way to incorporate them into your makeup looks, you should try one of the KVD eyeshadows.
