After a series of racist tweets came back to haunt Brooke Schofield, a lot of fans are wondering what it means for her podcast, rather aptly titled Cancelled. The TikTok star, who has more than 2.2 million followers, issued two apologies for her comments which included homophobic slurs, support for Donald Trump, and defense of George Zimmerman, the man who killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in 2012.

She detailed how her grandfather “is a very, very right-wing conservative man. It was like my household was literally just Fox News all the time. Rush Limbaugh, like, if you guys know who that is, he played literally all day long, through the house, and that was just like the only thing ever that I had been exposed to,” and that was her context for her earlier beliefs. But has this apology flown with her Cancelled co-host? Here’s what Tana Mongeau had to say about it.
Is Brooke Schofield leaving the Cancelled podcast?
She did temporarily, but we’re not sure how long that will last. In the first podcast episode after the scandal broke, Tana appeared without Brooke, which “was my decision,” she explained. “I have no right to forgive her as a white person for the things she said,” she said.
“We all saw the tweets, and they’re f—ked up and horrific and I’m saying that as a white person,” she continued. “And I’ve made it very clear to Brooke as well, that I condemn her for these tweets. And they’re f—king horrible, and I have no right to forgive her as a white person for the things that she said.”
The fact that Brooke wasn’t in the episode was a divisive decision, according to the comments section of the YouTube video. “I feel like this ep wasn’t the way to go about it. Be Brookes friend and encourage her to speak about it on the podcast that gave her the platform. As a cancelled podcast listener hearing that Tana made the decision to speak on this without Brooke doesn’t make sense to me,” they wrote.
Another observed, “you did the right thing addressing the situation… but quite frankly, brooke should’ve been on this episode to address the situation herself. on the next episode, brooke needs to address and formally apologize.”
