I’m all about inexpensive Vitamin C and there are tons to choose from out there. From the Ordinary’s Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% Serum that will set you back eight bucks to CosRX’s The Vitamin C 23 Serum with Super Vitamin E + Hyaluronic Acid for $25 there really is no shortage of budget friendly picks in the Vit C world.
That being said one of the best Vitamin C formulas I’ve personally tried a $182 bottle of SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum (like right now it’s on sale at Skintruth!). Yeah, that price is absurd to say the least. When I’ve purchased it in the past I’ve always purchased it on sale and even on sale the cost is pretty crazy. That being said, I’ve always gotten visible results from it quickly without a purge. If you aren’t familiar with the term purge it simply means a skin purging where skin is eliminating very quickly unwanted grossness. This purge results in a breakout of whiteheads or pimples. I think everyone experiences purging different. I typically end up with little whiteheads my chin. I’m not broke to breakouts of acne so this can be frustrating to deal with as someone not used to dealing with it daily. Vitamin C can be a bit of a pain to deal with sometimes in regards to how quickly it works. Sometimes it can take up to a month to see results or at least that’s been the case for me. I tend to switch formulas often because of this as I’m always looking for a fast acting formula that I’ll see visible results from quickly without that nasty purge I mentioned.
Vetted Dermlab kindly sent me their Vc Vitamin C Complex Serum recently and I just purchased two more bottles of it (it’s on sale at 20% off if you spend $100 and I thought now would be a good time to stock up). It’s not an inexpensive option like the ones I mentioned above but it has all the characteristics I’m looking for in a Vitamin C formula. I wish I had before and after photos after using this. I didn’t think to take those photos at the time because I thought it would be a few weeks before I saw results. I had never heard of Vetted before either so I wasn’t sure how good the formula was.
Well, it was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Within the first three days the small dark spots I have near my upper cheek bone area were almost gone and by day eight they were so light I could barely see them anymore. Now two weeks later it’s as if they weren’t there at all! My skin looks brighter and smoother after using this for a little over a month now. I think I’ve finally found my holy grail Vitamin C formula! It does have that weird fishy scent that all Vitamin C’s have unfortunately but that disappears fairly fast once applied. The texture is a slightly runny gel-like consistency that takes a few seconds to absorb but doesn’t leave skin tacky or sticky after use and layers just fine with other products without causing any pilling issues. Best part? No purging!
I am beyond impressed with this stuff. I never expected such immediate results. I love when skincare just gives you those visible results right away. Sadly, it is $78 for 1 oz (I got two backups for $62 each on their website as they are running a Mother’s Day sale) so it isn’t cheap but if you’ve been disappointed with Vitimin C formulas in the past that don’t appear to be working and you want something to visibly lighten up those dark spots and give you a brighter complexion I’d say bite the bullet and try the Vetted Dermlab Vc Vitamin C Complex Serum. It was a delightful surprise for me. They now have a fan for life over here.
Vc Vitamin C Complex Serum is available on at vetteddermlab.com! If you’ve tried this formula I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
