One thing FKA Twigs has always been is well-dressed. She’s been an indie darling since the days of Tumblr and the birth of the “indie pop” scene. She’s weird, she’s beautiful, she’s a legend of the mood board. And in advance of a new album release, Twigs stepped out in New York City last night, with a literal boot on our literal necks.
The 36-year-old British singer stepped out in the East Village for dinner with one Julia Fox, and of course, she stunned. She wore a brown leather strapless corset with matching panties, and sheer microshorts. She also had on these sick thigh-high brown leather boots with platforms and a strong—and I do mean STRONG—square toe. They almost look like hooves. She had a clutch that low-key kind of looked like a head of hair. And if you thought the sickeningness stopped there, she also had a fake face tattoo coming down from her scalp and onto her forehead down to the bridge of her nose. The face drawing was done by artist and close collaborator of Twigs, Tilda Mace, according to Nylon.
Twigs, despite making pop music, has always been a total rockstar. Very rarely does she make public appearances, so when she does, she makes it count. She and Fox headed to a listening party for Twigs’ new forthcoming album, titled Eusexua. We also suspect that she’s preparing for a press tour for The Crow, which comes out August 23. Twigs stars in the film alongside Bill Skarsgård.
