A star-studded birthday but no Royal family? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a blast planning Lilibet’s 3rd birthday party. The Sussexes went all out for their youngest child’s celebrations but left out a significant part of their family.
Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror all about Lilibet‘s big weekend, “Rather than go for a low-key celebration Harry and Meghan have spent the past weekend enjoying a pre-birthday bash for their daughter Lillibet’s third birthday – hugely expensive presents have been ruled out but the couple’s mansion in California was awash with celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy who is just a few months older than Lilibet.”
Quinn pointed out that Harry and Meghan made no effort to reach out to the Royal family to invite them. “Shockingly no invitations to Lilibet’s party were issued to members of the Royal Family.”
It would make sense since the Royal family has been dealing with health problems and is across the pond after all. “One of Harry’s old army friends said: ‘Harry knew they wouldn’t come anyway and he was pretty sure he would not have wanted them there,” Quinn continued. “But he is really sad that Archie and Lilibet cannot have any kind of relationship with their cousins while his feud with his family continues’.”
King Charles met Lilibet once during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which also coincided with Lilibet’s birthday. The Sussexes celebrated their daughter’s first birthday on June 4, 2022. The party went on at the couple’s residence at Frogmore Cottage with an intimate garden party. A source told The Sun that the party was “lovely” and “had everything you’d expect from a child’s birthday party.” The source continued, “the idea was for it to be very relaxed and casual, with people free to pop in and out as they wished.” The source also revealed that a top contender for Lilibet’s gift wishlist was a “£75 ($95 in US Dollars) pink Volkswagen Beetle ride-on toy.”
