As you already know if you read my prior post Kate Walsh has introduced two new Boyfriend Perfumes to her little fragrance empire and I purchased samples of both off the Amazon Boyfriend store front. I got them a day ago and I’m already using and love Boyfriend Down Under and I thought I’d review it and share some thoughts today.
Let’s take a look!
Well, wow! This is different. The Original Boyfriend and Boyfriend Billionaire were both warm, masculine fragrances, but Boyfriend Down Under is much softer and has a very much skin scent. I love it. It’s very clean, very fresh, and has soft, delicate floral notes that are easy to wear. I am 10000% a gourmand girlie, but I can get on board with beautiful blends like this.
Down Under is available in a small sample card containing 0.06 oz of mist for $8. But trust me, if I knew I’d love it this much, I’d have taken the $8 bucks and either get the larger size, which is $74, or the Rollerball, which is $35. I might as well apply that eight bucks to a larger size of this beauty.
This white floral had me taking a step back as I tend not to get on well with white floral fragrances, but it’s so well blended that I adore it. It has top notes of armoise and pepperwood, but I don’t smell either. I do, however, get a beautiful burst of the middle notes: gardenia, frangipani, hibiscus, and lily of the valley. All four of these give this a bit of a tropical floral explosion that reminds me of Hawaii. The lily is strong but mixes beautifully with the gardenia and the frangipani! The cleaner notes play with the delicate floral ones as they settle onto the skin and dry. The base is vanilla and soft musk, which give the white florals a clean, fresh, and soft layer on which to lay. It’s just such a beautifully feminine fragrance that’s clean and skin-like but not like a laundry smell but just a very fresh one.
It does lay very close to your skin. I only have 0.06 oz of the fragrance on, and it hugs close to my skin and doesn’t create a huge scent bubble, but it’s enough that it lingers softly in the air around me. I do feel that it wears a little short but a more larger bottle will allow me to test a bit better as I think I need a few more mists to get it lasting a bit longer. 0.06 oz for me isn’t nearly enough! I like three good fragrance sprays, sometimes more if they’re as light as this.
I have no idea what I expected from this, but I was very surprised. I think the original fragrances had me expecting it to smell very strong and warm but this is delicate, soft, very clean, and fresh. It’s stunning! A perfect workplace scent! I just purchased the large bottle. As with past fragrances, this is a slay! Muse Approved. Try it, and let me know what you think!
