There’s nothing Bella Hadid can’t do, and that includes launching her own perfumes. This February, the Bella Bots were shocked to learn about Orebella through a cryptic Instagram post, and since then—we’ve been graced by three unique scents that the internet has fallen in love with. No matter if you go for tropical, earthy, or floral, there was seemingly a perfume for everyone. But, with the launch of her newest perfume Nightcap, which has top notes of ginger and cardamom, the spicy scent lovers might’ve landed on their new holy grail.
Although I’m a lover of both perfume and Miss Bella Hadid, I’ve never actually tried any of her other Orebella scents. But, just like the rest of the world—I’ve heard tons about them on TikTok. Celebrity perfumes are far from a new concept, but something about Orebella feels different. Even though the name “Orebella” stems from Bella’s last name Hadid, it felt like a statement that the supermodel’s name isn’t found anywhere on the box. And, sure, it only takes a quick Google search to find that Bella Hadid is behind it—but who’s to say someone in store won’t test out the perfume and love it, all without knowing its connection to Bella.
Orebella Nightcap PerfumeSpicy and a little bit sweet, Nightcap is that sexy “grown up vanilla” backed by Bella Hadid. It’s currently available on the Orebella site, and you can buy it at Ulta, online and in-stores, starting August 30th.
However, like most of Gen Z, I heard about Orebella through Bella Hadid’s Instagram. Beyond just selling us perfume, Bella really knows how to sell a feeling. The campaign photos for all of the scents (especially Nightcap), are an ethereal fantasy that could easily live on our Pinterest mood boards. I mean, we all know Bella is gorgeous, but the marketing for Orebella is truly genius. For Bella stans, owning an Orebella perfume feels like owning a tiny part of her universe, to wear one of her scents is to be a little bit like her—and that has always been a big part of the appeal. But, at 10mL for $35, 50mL for $72, and 100mL for $100, Bella’s perfumes are definitely on the high-end side.

How to Use Orebella Perfumes
Interestingly enough, Orebella is a bit different than other perfumes you’ve tried. Aside from being alcohol-free, all of the four scents claim to be “shake-to-activate parfums.” In any case, you can probably get away with spraying as usual—because, despite being on the back of the box, I assume most people won’t hesitate to use it like a normal perfume.
But if you want to get the best scent experience, it’s recommended to hold the bottle in the palm of your hand and shake a few times until you see the liquid layers blend together. Then spray onto your skin, taking note that the layers will once again separate after 15-30 minutes. This process speaks to the uniqueness of the perfume’s formula, but I have to admit I definitely did not remember to shake when I was in a pinch and wanted to touch up throughout the day.
Our Orebella Nightcap Review
As for the scent itself, Nightcap is perfect for all of the spicy perfume enjoyers. Inspired by Bella Hadid’s vision of a “grown-up vanilla,” Nightcap isn’t your usual vanilla scent. If you love that Bath & Body Works cupcakey-vanilla scent, you might not fancy Nightcap. The warm scent has top notes of ginger, cardamom, and guaiacwood. Middle notes of vanilla and cistus, and base notes of sandalwood and patchouli. I think Bella hit the nail on the head when she described it as a sophisticated take on vanilla, because the spicy notes make me feel like a seductive woman on a night out. The fact of the matter is, if you love smelling sexy, you’ll love Nightcap.
Because I’m more of a floral perfume person, I was honestly hesitant about Nightcap. But to my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it actually lasted a long time. (Plus, I didn’t even prep my skin with Vaseline like some TikTok users suggest.) I’ve never used an alcohol-free perfume, but I was pretty satisfied with it overall—and didn’t really notice anything out of the ordinary. Having to shake before spraying might take a little getting used to, but I almost believe that’s part of its charm.

So the scent is gorgeous, but the bottle was a little confusing to me. It looks incredible, and that’s clearly demonstrated by all of the dreamy campaign photos featuring Bella herself. However, unlike most of the perfumes I own, the Orebella bottles are unable to stand up on their own. Sure, that’s a small thing to complain about—but it could very well be a dealbreaker for all of the avid perfume collectors. I found that the Nightcap perfume would sit slightly propped up when laying flat on the table, but its odd shape meant that it couldn’t be displayed on a shelf. In some of the product images, the perfume is sitting upright in a matching gold stand, but mine didn’t come with one (it seems like only the 100mL one comes with it).
With all that in mind, I think the Orebella Nightcap perfume is the perfect pick for those who are looking for a spicy twist on that classic vanilla scent. It’s sexy and mature, and as someone who frequents super girly floral scents, I’m glad it’s now part of my perfume rotation. It might be unconventional with it’s alcohol-free formula, shake-to-activate instructions, and laying-flat bottle—but it’s surely an excellent spicy scent to add to your collection.
