Becky G’s Sexiest Looks At New York Fashion Week, Hair Styles – StyleCaster

They say Fashion Week is a marathon, not a sprint. While absolutely, undoubtedly glamorous—the celebs, the exclusive after parties, the beautiful people—there are a few survival tricks Becky G has picked up along the way to make the chaos feel a little more manageable.

“I want to say good sleep, but it’s pretty hard to do when you’re in The City That Never Sleeps. So good coffee is essential, for sure,” she says of her non-negotiables. Having teamed up with TRESemmé, the California native said having a versatile hairstyle was also really important. “You’re doing so many outfit changes. The number of times I’ve changed in the car on our way to the next show, you need a hair look that complements each look,” she says.

Armed with a supply of water, Skinny Dipped Almonds, and, of course, Hot Cheetos, Becky G hit 10 shows and served 10 different looks. No small feat. So what comes first, the hair or the fashion? “It depends. It’s almost like when I write a song, sometimes I’ll have the concept of what I want to talk about before we even have the music or melody written,” she explains. “And then there are other times when I just love a beat so much, the melody is born from there and then we fill it in with some words.”

She continues: “With our experience of this last Fashion Week, I was lucky enough to be styled by the designers themselves, so I would say that the looks came first. The goal with the hair was to complete the look to do something that either complemented or contrasted the clothes.”

With what little downtime she had, Becky says there was one New York hotspot she wanted to shout out for allowing her to get her favorite meal to go. “I’ve become really great friends with all of the staff at Carbone. And when I say that, I mean they own my heart. The spicy vodka rigatoni? Oh my god. So I got that to go,” she says. “One time, I took myself out on a solo date just to celebrate life. That was my first time at Carbone and I’d befriended all of them. They’re amazing.”

At the end of the day, Becky says she likes decompressing with the “un-glamming process,” because while she’s had a whole team with her to get ready, she’s on her own when all’s said and done. “Even the Becky that’s had a few drinks does not sleep with her makeup on,” she laughs.

As many of us can attest, that deserves a round of applause.
