Leah Kateb, a 24-year-old from Bell Canyon, California, and Miguel Harichi, a 27-year-old from London, United Kingdom, were one of four couples in the Love Island USA Season 6 finale, along with Kordell and Serena; Kendall and Nicole; and JaNa and Kenny. Leah was an original islander who entered the villa on day one, while Miguel was a bombshell who arrived on day nine.

Leah and Miguel coupled up at the sixth recoupling after Leah’s breakup with her previous partner, Connor, and Miguel’s split from his former couple with Liv. They broke up at the next recoupling when Miguel left Leah to recouple with Casa Amor bombshell Sierra, which left Leah single. They recoupled again at the next recoupling after Miguel’s split from Sierra and remained together until the Love Island USA Season 6 finale.

Are Leah and Miguel still together from Love Island USA Season 6?

Leah and Miguel haven’t confirmed their relationship status after the Love Island USA Season 6 finale at the time of writing, however, not much time has passed between when the finale filmed and when it aired, so it’s likely they’re still together for now.

Voting ended for the Love Island USA Season 6 finale on July 19, 2024, two days before the episode aired on Peacock on July 21, 2024. That means that Miguel and Leah, as well as the three other final couples, were only in the real world for a day or two before the winner was announced. Coye Simmons, who was the first contestant dumped on Love Island USA Season 6, also confirmed to The Sun that episodes air only a “matter of days” after they’re filmed.

Still, just because Leah and Miguel are together now, that doesn’t mean they’ll stay together, especially given the low percentage of Love Island USA couples who have remained together over the years. Of Love Island USA’s past five seasons, only three couples are still together at the time of writing: Kyra and Will, who were the runners-up of Season 3; Marco and Hannah, who were the winners of Season 5; and Bergie and Taylor, who came in third place on Season 5.

Distance is also a huge issue for Leah and Miguel, as well as the main reason that most couples from Love Island USA break up after returning to the real world. Leah is from Bell Canyon, California, while Miguel is from London, United Kingdom. Kyra, who is from Hawaii, and Will, who is from Colombia, are the only Love Island USA couple still together from different countries, so Leah and Miguel are already at a disadvantage compared to the other final couples from Love Island USA Season 6.

The one advantage Leah and Miguel do have, however, is that Leah is an original islander who arrived in the villa on day one. Each of the Love Island USA couples still together has at least one member who was an original islander. Miguel also arrived fairly early on day nine, which was week earlier than Taylor from Love Island USA Season 5, who is still together with her partner, Bergie.

Will Leah and Rob get back together after Love Island USA Season 6?

Though Leah and Miguel remained together until the Love Island USA Season 6 finale, fans still had hope that Leah would reunite with her original partner, Rob, who was dumped in last recoupling before the finale. Leah and Rob, who were both original islanders who arrived in the villa on day one, coupled up at the first recoupling.

They briefly split at the second recoupling when Rob coupled up with bombshell Liv before reuniting again with Leah. They split again at the fourth recoupling when Rob recoupled with new bombshell Andrea, whom he stayed together with until Andrea’s dumping on day 11, which Rob blamed on Leah. Despite their drama throughout Love Island USA Season 6, Rob and Leah remained friends, with fans hoping that they would reunite later in the season.

Those hopes were only intensified when Rob and Leah had an emotional talk before he left the villa for good. “I really care about you. I really do, and I really, really wish you the best. And it didn’t work out for us, like, romantically, but I really do hope that we get to stay friends,” Rob said, to which Leah responded, “I swear to God, like, on, like, my dog’s life, like, I always cared about you, and I always wanted the best for you, and I always will.”

Hopes were again heightened when Rob returned to Instagram following his elimination and followed Leah on Instagram, with fans claiming that he followed Leah before he followed his Love Island USA exes, Andrea and Kassy, who he was coupled up with at the time of his elimination.

In a video for Love Island USA’s official Instagram, Rob was asked which couple he believed would win Love Island USA Season 6, to which he said Leah and Miguel. “Even though things didn’t work out with Leah and I, I think that she’s really an amazing person and I’m assuming America can see that as well. I could see her putting Miguel in her backpack,” he said. “Rob saying Leah and Miguel to win , awwww lol,” a user commented on the video. Another user added, “Not Rob saying Leah and Miguel will win omg.”

Love Island USA is available to stream on Peacock.
