About-Face Blush Rush is a new pigmented fluid cream blush that launched for Fall 2024 in six shades! I got one of the shades to review and swatch but I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back for more as I really love this formula! This is a super pigmented blush with a hydrating formula that contains jojoba oil, hyaluronic acid, squalane and Vitamins B5 + E. We’re seeing a lot of these fluid blushes thanks to the success Rare Beauty had with Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. Speaking of which if I had to decide between the two formulas I’d go with the About-Face Blush Rush Fluid Blush over the Rare Beauty formula. It just seems easier to work with in my opinion!
Let’s get to the review though!
About-Face Blush Rush Fluid Blush arrives in a translucent square barrel with rounded edges and holds 0.11 oz of blush for $18. The barrels shade matches the color of the blush for each shade available. The packaging most resembles the new Huda Beauty Blush Filter Soft Glow Liquid Blush but About-Face seems to have a smaller hourglass applicator. That applicator is very handy as you can dot on the smallest amount and blend and since this is a very pigmented blush a dot is all you need. P.S. Sneak a peek at the ingredients as the two do have almost identical formulas!
As I mentioned above I do like this formula a lot more than Rare Beauty’s but you do get a considerable amount more from them than About-Face. Rare Beauty’s price is 0.25 oz for $23. That’s over two times the amount of product for $5 bucks more. And let’s not forget the mini Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blushes are 0.11 oz for $14! Same size as these for $4 bucks less. That being said I find About-Face’s formula a bit more hydrating and not as quick drying which gives you more time to blend. Don’t get me wrong, Rare Beauty’s formula is pretty darn amazing but these are just a touch easier to blend as they don’t dry down as quickly! Also, Ulta always has their $3.50 coupon available and it does work on About-Face which means you can snag this for $14.50. Use code 188397 for $3.50 off this blush.
This is a thin, creamy but not runny formula that’s super pigmented. It has light dewy finish on the skin that blends very easily. A little goes a very long way to add a touch of beautiful color to cheeks. It has a delicate glow from the dewiness but does not contain shimmer nor glitter. Although, lightly dewy it sets quite well for all day wear and doesn’t move nor fade within a 12 hour wear! The color looks the same in 12 hours as it did when I originally applied it. Once it’s on, it’s on! The color is vibrant yet looks pretty and soft on my cheeks. I got the shade Starting Line and it’s a beautiful nude, pinky peach. I tried to do a bit of a Fall look with it for this review and thought it came out quite nice.
About-Face Blush Rush Fluid Blush is worth picking up!
Where to buy
Ulta About-Face
About-Face Blush Rush is a new, pigmented fluid blushes that’s available in six shades which launched for Fall 2024 to the brand’s permanent collection of products. This blush has a thin, creamy formula but it isn’t runny. It has a light dewy finish that feels hydrating on skin and doesn’t adhere to drier areas. A little goes a long way as it’s super pigmented and wears long and hard. I was concerned it would wear away easily due to the dewy finish but it wore on my for a solid 12 hours without missing a beat! It feels moisturizing but isn’t greasy nor sticky. It is a bit more expensive than the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush Minis that recently launched as both are 0.11 oz in size but where as Rare Beauty’s price is $14 this is $18. But as I mentioned above Ulta always has a $3.50 coupon circling around and this will cut it down to $14.25.
Light, dewy, hydrating but not greasy or sticky.
Wears long (I got 12 hours out of it).
Pigmented.
Easy to blend, doesn’t dry down too quickly.
A little expensive compared to other brands.
