Cameo Colours Lacquer – Polish Pick Up April 2021

Hiya guys! Another month is flying by the calendar pages. Like it isn’t just me, right? I feel the year has barely started and suddenly we are heading into the fourth month and into Spring as well. I definitely feel like I need to get my head out from the computer and the four walls of my house. Time to enjoy some nice weather and get some sunshine. Enough about that though, let’s get down for what we really want… the polish. For today I’m sharing a Polish Pick-Up contribution from Cameo Colours Lacquers for the May 90s theme. Not going to lie, I haven’t been this excited for a PPU theme in a very long time. I am a 90s baby and looking back on it now I miss the simple times where we didn’t go have Snapchat and TikTok. I feel like I totally just made myself sound so old, haha. But seriously instead of social media we had CD players, Tamagotchi’s, and so many excellent fashion choices. Speaking of which, this polish absolutely nails the epitome of 90s fashion. If you know then you know. And if not then let’s go ahead and get right into the swatches!Double Denim Days by Cameo Colours Lacquers will be available through Polish Pick-Up from April 2nd until April 5th. There is a cap of 100 bottles US (and 5 UK) and each 15mL bottle retails for $11.50.Cameo Colours Lacquer – Double Denim DaysDouble Denim Days can be described as a light-medium denim blue crelly with a blue/indigo shimmer, full of scattered holo sparkle and silver holo micro flakes. Okay, so tell me I’m not the only one who saw the name of this polish and that of that infamous Brittney and Justin denim couple outfit? See what I mean about freaking blowing the inspiration out of the park?! I swear I was so giddy throughout swatching, haha. So many fond memories. And of course the polish itself – inspiration aside – is right up my alley. It’s a gorgeous light blue (perfect for the incoming Spring season), which a touch of delicate depth in the shimmer and flake combination. The shade simply glows against my skin-tone, but it’s really one of those polishes that would look good on any skin-tone to be honest. The formula has a sheer application that ends-up building up well for complete coverage and no visible nail line. Consistency wise it feels well balanced throughout, not too thin or too thick. The application is very easy to work with and layer, I had no issues getting down some nice even coats. There is a very subtle purple shimmer throughout, but it was hard to capture in my indoor lighting set-up. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smoothes out easily after topcoat. I’d also like to note that I experienced no staining to either my nail beds or cuticles – always nice to know when it comes to a blue hue. Shown here in two to three coats and sealed off with a glossy topcoat. That’s a wrap on this gorgeous blue dream! I have said it a couple times already, but I’ll say it once more… The inspiration is completely nailed. Pun intended this time, haha. It really made me reminisce about the 90s and my terrible (but memorable) fashion choices. Denim on denim was ahead of it’s time I tell you. If only I would have had this nail polish back that… Think of the triple denim power, haha. If you’re with me on this then you are definitely going to want this polish in your collection. Make sure you set alarms because this beauty will only be available a short time and it’s also capped.
