8 Perfect Shades of Drugstore Lipsticks for Fall

Trade in your sheer glosses for bolder color this season with these drugstore lipsticks for fall! I love making bold berries, retro browns and rich reds the focus of my look. But whether you’re looking for statement shades or new everyday go-tos, I’ve rounded up eight perfect drugstore lipstick shades for fall.

1. essence The Slim Stick Lipstick in Choc-O-HolicThis new matte lipstick is smooth and pigmented, with a creamy feel that stays comfortable– especially for a matte formula! Its enriched with jojoba oil, macadamia oil, coconut oil and vitamin E so you don’t have to worry about dryness. Choc-O-Holic is described as a milk chocolate brown that pulls more cool-toned on my skin.

2. L’Oreal Colour Riche Satin Lipstick in Worth It MediumI had owned the original Worth It shade for years before discovering the Medium version! This is a gorgeous medium dusty rose shade that’s not too bold, and so can be worn with a variety of looks. This lipstick formula is incredibly moisturizing with argan oil and vitamin E in the mix. While it’s not transfer-proof, I do find the color itself to last well and it never feathers outside the lip lines.

3. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in RumberryOne of my top shades for fall, Rumberry is a reddish brown that channels the return of 90s makeup trends. I find this one a bit more universally wearable than their iconic Black Cherry shade which is much more purple, and deeper than Rum Raisin— sitting somewhere in between the two! The Super Lustrous Lipstick formula makes my lips look smooth, minimizing my lip lines. While I may have to touch up after eating, I love the experience of wearing these– they feel luxurious and buttery!

4. ColourPop Lippie Stix in BichetteRed is a year-round staple, but I think it especially pops in fall. Bichette is a blue-based red that’s going to look amazing on most skin tones (and make your teeth look whiter!). Completely opaque color in one swipe, the Lippie Stix are very creamy and smooth. While this is labelled “matte,” I would call it more of a satin finish. You can see above that there’s a slight sheen to it. There’s also a matching Lippie Pencil if you want more precision with your lip shape.

5. Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in FleurIt’s not fall without berry lipstick! Fleur is my perfect berry shade– not too red, not too purple. While you get a velvet matte appearance that stays put for hours, the Color Fetish Matte formula is ultra creamy and never dries out. There is still a hint of shine, and the color smooths over any lines or texture on the lips.

6. Revlon ColorStay Suede Ink Lipstick in Want It AllFor a warmer rose shade, Want It All is the perfect choice. Plus, the ColorStay Suede Ink matte formula is in a league of its own. Despite it looking like a classic, dry matte, it feels virtually weightless on the lips. I have honestly forgotten I’m wearing lipstick while they’re applied, as they’re also transfer-proof! Read my full review here.

7. Flower Beauty Perfect Pout Soft Matte Lip Color in IconYes, I had to add another red to the list! Icon is a brighter, candy apple red. This is one of the few matte liquid lipsticks I actually enjoy wearing. It has a very thin, wet feel as you swipe it on but it dries down to this beautiful soft matte finish that doesn’t feel like… well, anything on the lips. I find it to be mostly transfer-proof when applied in one layer.

8. Maybelline SuperStay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lip Color in ChargedFor the truly daring and bold, go vampy with Maybelline’s Charged shade. A deep, plummy brown, this can act as a statement on lighter skin tones or a neutral on deeper skin. The Vinyl Ink Liquid Lip Colors are a long lasting liquid lipstick that stay shiny, but are transfer-proof and last all day– check out my full review here!. Just be sure to shake it first!
