As I get older, the more I get into no-makeup makeup. You know, the barely-there look that lets you appear refreshed and awake without looking weighed down. What is Typology?
Typology is the minimalist skincare brand born in Paris, France that eventually landed stateside. It’s kind of like The Ordinary in the sense that both brands use minimal ingredients to achieve powerful skincare results. But Typology is like its cool, French older sister that’s about to show you a whole new way of life. The brand has long been a best-seller in France, and now that it’s available in the U.S., it’s about to be everywhere.
The brand complies with European cosmetic regulations, which has banned over 1,300 ingredients that may pose toxic repercussions, including additives that are carcinogenic, mutagenic, or harmful to reproduction, per Typology’s website. While Typology is first and foremost of French origin, it gives priority to ingredients that come from organic farming and are extracted with gentle techniques, be it from France or elsewhere.

“I was immediately taken with the texture and consistency of this eye serum; it feels like water on your skin. Since the formula is super lightweight, it sinks in pretty fast and doesn’t leave behind any residue, which is great for moments when you’re in a rush (like mornings ahead of the work day).
As far as results, it took a couple of weeks for me to see any major differences with puffiness and dark circles — the concerns this eye serum primarily targets. I’ve been far more stressed (and sleeping less) than usual over the past couple of months, resulting in my eye area looking pretty haggard. But with consistent applications, I began to see improvements, so naturally, I’m now hooked. Plus, a little goes a long way, making the $34 price tag totally worth the investment.”

“Upon first glance, these bronzing drops look super pigmented. But once you start blending them into the skin, it all sheers out quite significantly. You can mix them with your go-to face cream, but I prefer to apply them directly onto my face for the most saturation.
Compared to other bronzing drops I own, these definitely lean more natural—which is not necessarily a bad thing. If you’re looking to add a subtle glow to your daily makeup routine, I’d recommend trying them. “If you were only to purchase one thing from Typology, I’d highly recommend their lip oil. My lips have never looked so glossy and smooth! This lightly tinted lip oil gives me the perfect natural pink pout with an ultra glossy look that doesn’t feel sticky or uncomfortable. My one qualm with this product is the tiny applicator brush. I would love for it to be a little larger so that I’m not taking as many dips into my product to apply.”

“I freaked out when I saw that the website advertises a Yuka score of 90/100 for this tint. I run literally everything I put on my skin in the Yuka app. If you’re not familiar, it’s an app that lets you scan bar codes and see how safe the product is for your skin or human consumption. The fact that it scores a 90 Yuka score is seriously unheard of. That means you’re putting mostly natural ingredients on your skin that won’t harm it in the moment or over time.
This skin tint is so good, it’s perfect for no-makeup makeup days and whenever you want glass skin perfection a la Hailey Bieber (which is, you know, every day). The sheer tint is perfect to cover up any slight redness or discoloration, and it even went perfectly over the pores in my nose to create a flawless filter effect.”
